Why You Need to Build A List?
In this article I want to show you one thing I’ve learned the hard way about Internet Marketing before I started making money online. You can’t make money online if:
A) You don’t have product to sell and,
B) You don’t have leads to sell to
Whether you’re selling your own product or other people’s stuff - with affiliate programs, you need a list of people to sell to! These are the basics of Internet Marketing. Of course there are different ways to make money online, but a list is what makes the difference between a Newbie and a true Internet Marketer: the list is what truly sets them apart. You need a lead capture page where people will give you their names and email addresses, so you can send them information about your niche market; and sell them your products!
Your Lead Capture Page
A lot of people who start out on the Internet get too often confused about Internet Marketing. I know what I’m talking about, because this used to be my case. Having a content website, a blog, a review site or some other kind of site where you’re selling products is good. It’s even better if you know how to get traffic. But alas that’s not what Internet Marketing is all about.
When I first started online in January 2007, I joined Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Stumble Upon - you name it - and I was focused on building relationships, chatting and making contacts with like minded people in the hope of selling them my products. I tried video marketing, article marketing, building links and what have you, to hook them up, believing this was the way to go. But none of that worked and not too long ago I ended up exhausting myself and disappointed. I had tried the wrong approach in my business model because I didn’t know about lead capture pages and how they fitted in!
The truth of the matter is if you don’t have a lead capture page to collect your leads’ names and email addresses, you’re not truly marketing. You’re just fooling and playing around. In other words, you’re losing money and bleeding your life away.
The Money Is In The List
You heard it many times before, “The money is in the list”, and this is true! List building is the foundation of your business. It’s the lifeblood of any online business! This is where the money is made, the center of your focus, and where you should put all your efforts!
Maybe you’re acquainted with the big names in Internet Marketing like Mike Filsaime, Micheal Cheney, Rich Schefren, Eben Pagan, the Rich Jerk, Brad Fallon, Andy Jenkins, Jeff Walker, Frank Kern, etc. If not, then they are your 200 pounds gorilla in Internet Marketing. These guys are the heavy hitters and they shovel money on the Internet in the truck loads.
Question: besides being Internet millionaires, what do you think is their biggest asset? If you can’t answer this one, let me put it this way: if a burglar had a gun to their heads and was threatening them with their lives to give him all they had, what do you think would be the last thing they would part from? Their millions, their mansions, their planes, their cars or their lists? If you still haven’t guessed it… It’s their list! They would part from everything else - except their list. Why? Because “the money is in the list”! You see, the list is everything and everything is in the list.

Anytime these guys need money, they send an email to their lists and instantly their bank accounts are flooded with money! Their lists are their biggest asset. It’s their switch to money, and they can print money just like the Government. And the bigger the list, the more money they can print! So this is exactly why you need to build a list too.
Summary
OK, I know you’re running some websites and blogs, and you’re selling stuff, right?… So I want you to add to the mix a lead capture page! Click here if you want to know how any newbie can build a list. When you’re sending traffic to your online business, always give your preference to:
1. Your Lead capture page (your Squeeze page)
2. What ever you were working on (your Review page, your Blog, your Content page, etc.)
Why? Because list building is essentially more important than anything else and all the traffic you can send to your blogs or websites. List building is the core of your business.
